Jenny and Johnny - the eagerly anticipated new project from Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis and the acclaimed singer-songwriter Johnathan Rice - have confirmed details of their first full UK tour that will commence at the end of November. The tour will follow the release of their debut album ‘I’m Having Fun Now’ that has already earned rave reviews in the States.
During hours of downtime on her ‘Acid Tongue’ world tour, Jenny and Johnathan Rice began writing a batch of songs different from anything they had previously created. During a nine day demo session in LA in October 2009, helmed by Rilo Kiley’s Pierre De Reeder, Jenny and Johnny played as many instruments as possible, right down to the drums, bringing in Jason Boesel for additional embellishments. The four friends were so happy with the results that Lewis and Rice decided to start a brand new band and finish the record. In late December the two songwriters drove from Los Angeles to Omaha, Nebraska to work with their friend, Mike Mogis.

Cash’s 2008 release Personal File, the double-CD collection of 49 privately recorded, intimate solo performances dating from 1973 to 1982, has been repackaged to become the first of this Bootleg Series, and maintains its original tracklisting.
A 49 track collection of previously unreleased tracks apparently found in a box under his bed, a collection of his influences and favourites. Similarly to the ’American Recordings’  series Cash covers many gospel, rock and country standards in his own unique, sometimes haunting style.

To commemorate and celebrate what would have been Johnny Cash’s 80th birthday, Legacy releases From Memphis to Hollywood: Bootleg Vol 2. This double album focuses on the dawning of Johnny Cash’s recording career at Sun Records in Memphis from late 1954 to late ’57 (on CD One), into his first decade at Columbia Records in Nashville, from 1958 to 1969 (on CD Two).
The album begins with a 15-minute live broadcast from KWEM in Memphis, hosted by Johnny Cash in May 1955, the same month he recorded his first songs on Sun. The disc continues with 11 previously unreleased demos, seven outtakes from Sun recording sessions and two more unreleased demos. The 25 tracks on the second disc span Cash’s first 11 years at Columbia Records, including non-album singles, outtakes and b-sides, 11 tracks of which have been previously unreleased.
