Let’s get this straight – anyone expecting the heavy psyche drone sound that has been gradually built over the course of Dead Meadow’s 10 year and 5 album career – sorry – but it’s not to be found here! This is instead a much more understated sound gleaning more influence from shoe gazing folk such as Jesus and Mary Chain and early Primal Scream as opposed to Sabbath esq riffs. This is them at their most introspective and subtle with gives more scope to all the individual parts that make up the Dead Meadow sound..the over all effect feels more expansive and meditative and as the record ends you really do feel like the band have taken you far away on a journey through space and time..

Limited Edition of 3,000, 12 page booklet with liner notes by Dean Wareham and still images from films by Andy Warhol. This project was initially commissioned by the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. Dean & Britta created 13 songs and instrumentals to perform live in a multimedia show, with Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests projected on a large screen above the band as they play. The screen tests are short, silent portrait films made by Warhol at the Factory between 1964 and 1966 -- of actors, dancers, artists, and Factory regulars. Each film is 4:15 in length. Dean & Britta selected 13 subjects (including Dennis Hopper, Nico, Lou Reed) and recorded 8 songs and 5 instrumentals for them. These are original studio recordings, produced by Dean & Britta, with additional remixes by Scott Hardkiss, Sonic Boom (MGMT, Spacemen 3) and My Robot Friend. Songs are a mix of originals and covers including Bob Dylan’s I’ll Keep It With Mine and the Velvet Underground’s Not a Young Man Anymore.
