Label Rough Trade
Cut the World features 11 symphonic versions of songs from Antony and the Johnsons four previous full-lengths, recorded in Denmark with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra and arrangements by Antony, composer Nico Muhly, Rob Moose, and Maxim Moston. Label ATP recordings
Ace new project signed to ATP featuring Cedric Bixler Zavala (Mars Volta, At The Drive-in), Mike Watt (The Stooges, Minutemen), Christian Eric Beaulieu (Triclops!) and Rachel Fannan (Sleepy Sun)!!
The music captured on this material is an ethereal, resonant execution of what could be described as eastern acoustic punk. Likened to the voyeurism of Sandy Bull, Sir Richard Bishop, or Jack Rose style raga’s reinterpreted at times with Drive Like Jehu, Minutemen punk velocity, other moments emotionally spiraling toward a haunting, ethereal beauty akin to Vashti Bunyan lost in the desert of a desolate western.

U.S post rock on ATP label. This is dead lush and at times rather terrifying.

Label Chemikal Underground
This collection of Demos, b-sides, remixes, new recordings, live tracks and (mighty) Peel sessions marks the unfortunate end of Arab Strap’s 10 year career. Ok, so both Malcolm Middleton and Mr. Moffat are still making music outside of the Strap but we wont forget their legacy. Never.

Artist ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKITitle Moment Bends
Label V2
You may not have expected it, but the first great modernist pop album of 2011 is here… Four years on from their last album, ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI return with the hook-laden, magnetic and lush “Moment Bends”. It sounds like the album they’ve waited their whole lives to make, retaining the fizzing immediacy of its three predecessors and re-moulding with a more sophisticated touch.
LP is a gate fold edition.
Artist Arctic Monkeys Title Suck It And See
Label Domino
Recorded during the latter half of 2010 and early months of 2011, Suck It and See finds the Arctic Monkeys partnering with James Ford for a third time. The album features a more accessible sound than its predecessor, Humbug, and shines a new light on the band’s pop influences.

Artist Ariel Pink's Haunted GraffitiTitle Mature Themes
Label 4AD
Following up on the wildly successful Before Today, Ariel Pink delves back into the well of retro-leaning lo-fi pop on Mature Themes, the third album from the singer’s Haunted Graffiti project. Electro-funk revivalist Dam-Funk drops in on a cover of the obscure mixtape darling "Baby" by Donnie and Joe Emerson, delivering a faithful rendition of the drifting, lost blue-eyed soul gem. If that weren’t reassuring enough, pre-release single "Only in My Dreams" shows that Pink and company are still pop purists lovingly exploring the sounds of the past to create the weirdness of the future.

3rd album from Deerhunter mastermind Bradford Cox. This is perhaps his best work to date, juxtaposing his modern, sometimes avant songwriting sensibilities against a backdrop of ambient loneliness and a quiet feeling of desperation.

The group – comprised of Yorke and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, all-star session drummer Joey Waronker, and Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco — recorded the album following their tour in 2010.
Speaking about the project during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Yorke said the group was initially formed to tour behind his solo LP Eraser, “but it sparked something off. So we ended up at the end of that getting into the studio and generating some new beats.”
