H HAWKLINE // Album release day 02.02.15

As well as playing a Thursday night residency at Clwb Ifor Bach each week throughout February, H Hawkline will also be popping by Spillers to mark the release day of his long awaited full length album.  We’ve long admired the solo output of Huw Hawkline, sometime sidekick of Cate Le Bon and Sweet Baboo and look forward to a stripped down set of tracks from his Heavenly label release.  This will also be our first instore in our new shop so we might need to bake a cake as well..... 


Wednesday 11th Feb // Time TBC. Twilight Sad are hitting the road for a tour of independent record stores.  They’ve got a lovely. limited 7" picture disc coming out 9th of Feb so we’re offering guaranteed places to to instore to anyone pre-ordering this 7". *If* we have space we will let extra people in but we are expecting this event to be popular!

The Twilight Sad are also playing a regular tour in April / May touching down in The Globe, Cardiff on April 27.  We are selling tickets for this gig in store (£13).

PEACE // Album release week! 
Sunday 15th Feb // 4pm

To celebrate the release of their new album Peace are stopping by Spillers to play a set & sign albums.  To guarantee a space pre-order the new album ASAP.  If we have room we’ll let extra people in of course!  The album will be out on two CD formats (standars & deluxe with 8 extra tracks) and two LP formats (1LP & deluxe 2LP with 8 extra tracks).  Links are below. 



It’s here! Another year, another Spillers Records calendar.  Featuring you, our wonderful Spillers friends around the globe, at gigs, causing mischief (lookin’ at YOU Railroad Bill!), hanging out with legendary music people (Manic Street Preachers, Robert Plant, Bob Harris and The Paper Aeroplanes) and of course, the centerpiece; our tremendous museum group-shot.

Spillers Records - Who We Are

Spillers Records (us!) is the world’s oldest record shop, established in Cardiff in 1894 by Henry Spiller. We have contined to trade in music ever since from our premises in Cardiff. We specialise in independent music of most genres in both CD and vinyl, plus we have knowledgeable staff who will be happy to help you, either in the store or here at our website at www.spillersrecords.com. We like records, tea, instores and if you bring us biscuits from Wally’s deli (in the arcade next to us) we’ll like you a lot.
